Introduction
  • There is an obvious gap between town and gown in Agricultural education in Nigeria, and indeed most African Countries. Graduates of Agriculture most times find their way into other sectors of the economy e.g. from Faculty of Agric to Banking Industry.
  • Nigeria, and most African Countries, need Agric – led development.
  •  There is need to convert the immense Natural and Agricultural Resources in these countries to sources of economic empowerment, industrialization and economic development.
  • There is need to achieve desirable and sustainable balance between the Environment and Agricultural Activities.
  • There is need to relate the theory of Agric to the practice of it in Africa
  • There is need to repackage farming as a business.
  • There is need to develop and equip the future generation of African Farmers with modern, adaptive, environmentally friendly and sustainable farming technologies.
  • Finally, there is the need to promote school - to – farm self-employment.
